Successful completion of the resource provides 1 hour of CPD, delivered by Learna Ltd, an educational partner of the University of Glamorgan.
This educational resource delivers a series of self-assessment questions based around specific clinical scenarios testing the user on the typical aspects of anaphylaxis for health professionals. The content has been approved by Dr Adam Fox, Consultant Paediatric Allergist at Guys' and St Thomas's Hospitals. Anaphylaxis is a potentially life-threatening severe hypersensitivity reaction that demands urgent medical attention. The condition may be precipitated by a variety of allergens such as foods, venoms or drugs.
On successful completion of this resource, you will be presented with a certificate of completion to include in your PREP or CPD portfolio.
Aims and Objectives
11 self assessment questions offering 1 hour of CPD. On completion of this resource, the user should have:
- Knowledge of how to diagnose and evaluate anaphylaxis.
- Knowledge of the emergency treatment of patients presenting with anaphylaxis according to current guidance.
- Appropriate care pathways for patients presenting to the general clinician with anaphylaxis.
- Education of patients with anaphylaxis regarding avoidance and self-management using devices such as the adrenaline auto-injector.
